Think Outside The Box

The typeface I created is imperfect and only a few characters make it understandable, much like language where a few words can be crucial. Sometimes, in order to understand eachother, we have to think outside the box.

Gilbert & George

A book on the ten commandments as written by Gilbert & George. The artist's have said in the past that they get everything they need from within a square mile so I collected books that could be found within that mile.

    My Friend Pike is the multi-disciplinary design studio of designer Lisa Holst. She specialises in branding and typographic illustration but also provides art direction, design and illustration. Strategic thinking, creating something unique and humour is important aspects of her work.

    Lisa is currently based in London but is happy to take on projects outside the UK.

      So, as of recently I've picked up lino cutting. It is something I tried in Art School many years ago but decided to have a go at again...and I love it! So much fun and I love the imperfections. Here is my first creation, 'The Beer Bear' in a series called 'Dumpster Divers'.
